LiteSpeed Cache is a performance optimization plugin for WordPress that works together with server-level caching to improve website loading speed and efficiency.
If WordPress was installed automatically from the mybox panel, LiteSpeed Cache may already be available or ready for configuration.

Installation
You can install the LiteSpeed Cache plugin in one of two ways:
Option A: From WordPress.org
Download the plugin from:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/litespeed-cache/
Then upload the .zip file via the WordPress admin panel.
Option B: From WordPress dashboard (recommended)
Go to:
Plugins → Add New
Search for:
LiteSpeed Cache
Click Install Now, then Activate once installation is complete.
After activation
By default, LiteSpeed Cache works with safe default settings that are suitable for most websites. These settings already enable basic performance improvements without additional configuration.
Plugin overview
Dashboard
Displays general plugin status and system information. No configuration changes are required.
Main
Contains general options such as update settings and notifications.
If you plan to use image optimization, you can request a domain key here.
Cache settings
This is the core section of the plugin.
Enable Cache
Controls whether caching is active.
Cache for logged-in users
Enables caching for authenticated users. Enabled by default.
TTL
Defines cache lifetime. No changes required in most cases.
Clear
Controls when cache is cleared:
- on content updates
- when publishing changes
- automatically during updates
Server Stale
Allows serving older cached content while new cache is being generated. Disabled by default.
Object Cache (Redis)
If Redis is enabled in mybox:
- Enable Object Cache
- Method: Redis
- Host: provided Redis socket path
- Port: leave empty
- Username: leave empty
- Password: leave empty
Browser cache
Browser Cache
Stores static files in the visitor’s browser to reduce load times.
TTL
Recommended value: 691,200 seconds (8 days)
Page optimization
CSS settings
- CSS Minify: compresses CSS files
- CSS Merge: combines CSS files (use with caution)
- Load CSS asynchronously: improves performance but may cause temporary layout shifts
- Critical CSS: improves rendering when async loading is enabled
JS settings
- JS Minify: compresses JavaScript
- Combine JS: merges JS files (may cause conflicts)
- Delay JS loading: loads scripts after initial page render
Media settings
- Lazy Load Images: delays image loading
- Placeholder options: defines fallback visuals
- Responsive placeholders: automatic scaling
- LQIP: low-quality image placeholders for faster rendering
Localization
- Gravatar Cache: stores avatars locally instead of external loading
- Localize Resources: loads external scripts locally when possible
Database optimization
- Revisions limit: recommended 3–5
- Revisions retention: recommended 30 days
- Helps reduce database size and improve performance
Crawler
The crawler is not enabled by default.
It simulates search engine visits to pre-generate cache.
If enabled:
- increases server load
- improves cache readiness
Recommended settings:
- Delay: 500 ms
- Run time: 400–600 seconds
- Interval between runs: adjust based on traffic
Tools
Clear
Allows clearing different cache layers:
- homepage cache
- CSS/JS cache
- full cache reset
Import / Export
Used to transfer plugin settings between websites.
.htaccess editor
Allows editing server rules directly from WordPress.
Heartbeat control
Controls WordPress background requests:
- can be disabled
- or rate-limited
Useful for reducing server load on high-traffic sites.
Debug settings
Used for troubleshooting:
- disable plugin features
- enable logging
- analyze performance issues
