By decision of ICANN, the international institution responsible for assigning internet domain names and determining their structure, the terms and conditions for registering global domains changed on 1 January 2014. One of the key changes is the need to verify the data of domain subscribers entered into the publicly available WHOIS database.
As a result, when registering, transferring, assigning or changing subscriber data, the domain registrar is obliged to:
- check the subscriber’s address details,
- verify the subscriber’s telephone number or e-mail address.
Mybox.com, in consultation with our partner providing global domain registration services, Ascio Inc., will verify the Subscriber’s email address for global domains.
Email address verification process
After ordering a domain and paying the pro-forma invoice, a domain registration request is generated. A message is then sent to the domain Subscriber’s email address with a request for verification.
SUBJECT: Required action: Please verify the domain subscriber’s email address
Dear Sir or Madam,
You have just purchased a new domain. We are pleased to inform you that you are now its legitimate Subscriber.
In accordance with the regulations of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), we must verify your email address.
The link below allows you to verify your email address with a single click. After clicking, you will be redirected to a page confirming the verification.
The email address verification process is necessary for you to

mybox.com Customer ServiceAt this point, the domain is already registered, but it is not active until verification is complete – when you try to access the website corresponding to the domain address, a message will be displayed informing you that verification is required.
After clicking on the Verify your email address link, your email address will be verified and the domain will be activated.
If verification is completed more than 45 days after the date of the domain registration request, you may need to contact the 24-hour Helpdesk.
