1. Installing the Duplicator Plugin
Log in to your WordPress administration panel:

In the search field, enter:

- Click Activate

- Username

This step is optional and can also be completed during installation.
Website Scan
Duplicator will now scan:
- Website files
- WordPress database
- Server environment
Depending on the size of your website, this process may take several minutes.
Once the scan is complete:
- Green items indicate no issues.
- Yellow warnings are usually informational.
- Red errors should be reviewed before continuing.
Note: A warning related to
open_basediris common on many hosting platforms and typically does not prevent package creation.
If no critical errors are present:
- Accept any warnings displayed.
- Click Build
Duplicator will begin generating the migration package.
Download the Package
When the package creation process finishes, you will see:
Package Completed Download:
- The archive package
- The installer file
You can use One-Click Download if your browser supports downloading multiple files simultaneously.
3. Preparing the Destination Website
Before importing the website, create a new website in the mybox Panel.
Navigate to:
Websites
Click:
+ Add Website
Select:
Blank Website
Do not select an application installer.
Enter the destination domain name and leave the following options enabled:
- Create FTP account
- Create MySQL database
After the website is created, save the following information:
- FTP hostname
- FTP username
- FTP password
- Database hostname
- Database name
- Database username
- Database password
You will need these details during the installation process.
4. Uploading the Migration Files
Connect to your hosting account using FTP.
Upload the downloaded Duplicator files to:
yourdomain.com/public_html Before uploading, delete the default file:
index.html After the upload is complete, verify that both files are present:
- installer.php
- Duplicator archive package
5. Running the Duplicator Installer
Open your web browser and navigate to:
https://yourdomain.com/installer.php The Duplicator installer will start.
Step 1 – Validation
Duplicator will perform several environment checks.
You may see a warning related to:
open_basedir This warning is expected and does not normally affect the migration process.
To continue:
- Check I have read and accept all terms and notices
- Click Next
Duplicator will extract the archive.
Depending on the size of the package, this may take several minutes.
6. Configuring the Database
Once extraction is complete, Duplicator will request database information.
Enter the credentials generated when you created the destination website.
Important
Do not leave the database host set to:
localhost Instead, use the MySQL hostname provided by the mybox Panel.
Example:
example.mysql.mybox.com After entering the database information:
- Click Test Database
If the connection is successful, the validation results should display:
Pass
Good Click:
Next
Confirm the database replacement when prompted.
7. Finalizing the Installation
Duplicator will display information about:
- Website URL
- Installation path
- WordPress configuration
In most cases, no changes are required.
Click:
Next
Duplicator will:
- Import the database
- Update URLs
- Configure WordPress
- Complete the migration
When finished, all validation items should display a green status.
8. Log In to WordPress
Click:
Admin Login
You will be redirected to the WordPress administration panel on the new domain.
Log in using the same administrator credentials used on the original website.
Duplicator will automatically remove temporary installation files and complete the cleanup process.
Important: Domain Propagation
If you are migrating a website from another hosting provider and plan to update the domain’s DNS settings afterward, remember that DNS propagation takes time.
Changes typically become visible worldwide within:
Up to 24 hours During this period, some visitors may still reach the old hosting server while others reach the new one.
