In the PrestaShop e-commerce system, caching plays a vital role in optimizing the performance of a website. Caching allows you to store temporary data, such as database queries or query results, to speed up page loading. However, over time, this memory can build up, which can lead to performance issues. In such cases, it is necessary to clear the cache regularly.
Below you will find the steps to clear cache in PrestaShop script:
Table of Contents
Log in to the admin panel
Start by logging in to your PrestaShop admin with your login and password. Typically, the admin panel link is your-store.com/admin. If the default /admin does not work, check your files (via FTP) to find the folder in the root directory that contains files like index.php and login.php
Go to Advanced > Performance
In the PrestaShop admin panel, find the “Advanced” tab in the side menu. Once you open it, click on “Performance”.
Clear cache
At the top of the page on the right, you will find the “Clear Cache” button.
Refresh the site
After clearing the cache, it is recommended that you refresh the site to apply the changes you made. Check if the site is working properly and if you notice any differences in performance.
