Webmail vs. email client
Both webmail and dedicated email clients (Outlook, Thunderbird, Apple Mail) connect to the same mailbox. The difference is how you access it:
| Webmail | Email client | |
| Access | Any browser, any device | Installed app on your device |
| Setup required | None | IMAP/SMTP configuration |
| Works offline | No | Yes (for cached messages) |
| Best for | Quick access, travel, shared computers | Daily use, large inboxes |
Neither option affects what arrives in your mailbox - they both read from the same source.
Security
Webmail at mybox uses an encrypted HTTPS connection. For additional account protection, enable two-factor authentication (2FA) in the mybox panel - see How do I set up 2FA in webmail?
