What Happens During the Migration?
The migration process:
- Copies emails from Gmail
- Preserves folders and labels where possible
- Transfers attachments
- Leaves the original Gmail account unchanged
The duration of the migration depends on:
- The size of the mailbox
- The number of messages
- Network conditions
- Gmail server response times
Completion Notification
Once the migration is complete, a notification will be delivered to the destination mailbox.
You can then verify that your messages have been imported successfully.
Gmail Accounts with Two-Factor Authentication
If your Google account uses two-factor authentication, Gmail may reject standard password authentication.
In this situation:
- Sign in to your Google account.
- Generate an App Password.
- Use the generated App Password instead of your regular Gmail password when configuring the import.
Alternative: Import During Mailbox Creation
The email import feature may also be available when creating a new mailbox, allowing you to transfer messages immediately during the mailbox setup process.
Professional Migration Assistance
If you prefer not to perform the migration yourself, the mybox team can assist with mailbox migrations.
Contact support through the mybox Panel for assistance with larger or more complex migrations.
