Before You Begin
Make sure that:
- A mailbox has already been created in the mybox Panel.
- You know the iCloud email address you want to migrate.
- IMAP access is enabled for the account.
- You can successfully log in to your iCloud mailbox.
Important: If your Apple ID uses two-factor authentication (2FA), you must generate an App-Specific Password. Your regular Apple ID password will not work for mailbox migration.
Step 1: Open the Email Management Section
Log in to the mybox Panel.
Navigate to:
Locate the mailbox that will receive the imported messages.
Step 2: Start the Import Process
Next to the destination mailbox, click:
Actions → Import Messages
The email import form will open.
Step 3: Enter the iCloud Account Details
Complete the form using the following settings:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Server Address | imap.mail.me.com |
| Source Mailbox | Your iCloud email address (for example: [email protected], [email protected], or [email protected]) |
| Password | Your iCloud password or App-Specific Password |
Verify that all information is correct before proceeding.
Step 4: Start the Migration
Submit the form to begin the import process.
The system will connect to the iCloud mailbox using IMAP and start copying messages to your mybox mailbox.
What Happens During the Migration?
The migration process:
- Copies emails from iCloud Mail
- Preserves folder structure where possible
- Transfers attachments
- Leaves the original iCloud mailbox unchanged
The duration of the migration depends on:
- Mailbox size
- Number of messages
- Network conditions
- Apple server response times
Completion Notification
Once the migration has finished, a notification will be delivered to the destination mailbox.
You can then verify that your emails have been imported successfully.
Using an App-Specific Password
If two-factor authentication is enabled for your Apple ID, create an App-Specific Password before starting the migration:
- Sign in to your Apple ID account settings.
- Navigate to the Sign-In and Security section.
- Generate a new App-Specific Password.
- Use the generated password instead of your regular Apple ID password when configuring the import.
Alternative: Import During Mailbox Creation
The message import feature may also be available when creating a new mailbox, allowing you to migrate messages immediately during the mailbox setup process.
Professional Migration Assistance
If you prefer not to perform the migration yourself, the mybox team can assist with mailbox migrations.
