If you want to install WordPress manually using files downloaded directly from the official GitHub repository, you can do so using SSH access and a few simple commands.
This method is intended for users who prefer manual deployment instead of using the automatic application installer available in the mybox Panel.

Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure:
- SSH access is enabled for your hosting account.
- A domain has been added to your account.
- Git is available on the server.
To enable SSH access, log in to the mybox Panel and navigate to:
Advanced → Secure Shell (SSH)
If SSH is disabled, enable it before proceeding.
Downloading WordPress from GitHub
Connect to your hosting account via SSH.
First, create a directory for your website:
mkdir yourdomain.com
Enter the newly created directory:
cd yourdomain.com
Download the latest WordPress files from the official GitHub repository:
git clone https://github.com/WordPress/WordPress.git
Once the download is complete, enter the WordPress directory:
cd WordPress
To verify that the files were downloaded correctly, run:
ls
You should see the standard WordPress file structure, including files such as:

Preparing the Website in the mybox Panel
Log in to the mybox Panel and open:
Websites
Click:
+ Add
and select:
Blank Website
In the website creation form:
- Select the domain you want to use.
- Expand the advanced options.
- Enable the option to specify a custom public directory.
- Enter:
WordPress
as the public directory.
This should match the directory created by the Git clone operation.
Click:
Add Website
Once the website is created, click:
Show Access Data
Save the displayed information, especially:
- Database name
- Database username
- Database password
- Database hostname
You will need these details during the WordPress installation process.
Running the WordPress Installer
Open your domain in a web browser:
https://yourdomain.com
The WordPress installation wizard should appear.
Step 1 – Select Language
Choose your preferred language and click:
Continue
Step 2 – Database Information
WordPress will display a screen requesting database connection details.
Enter the information obtained from the website access data:
- Database Name
- Database Username
- Database Password
- Database Host
Click:
Submit
Step 3 – Verify Database Connection
If the database connection is successful, WordPress will display a confirmation screen.

Run the Installation
Step 4 – Configure Your Website
Fill in the following fields:
- Site Title
- Administrator Username
- Administrator Password
- Administrator Email Address
Choose secure login credentials and save them in a safe location.
Click:
Install WordPress
Step 5 – Complete Installation
After a few moments, WordPress will finish the installation process.
You can then log in by clicking:
Log In
or by visiting:
https://yourdomain.com/wp-admin
Verifying the Installation
Once logged in, open your website homepage.
You should see the default WordPress theme and a fully functional WordPress installation ready for customization.
