Enter your domain name and click <strong>Park domain<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This registers the domain in your account so you can create a website and prepare files before changing DNS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 2 \u2014 Create a website<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Go to <strong>Websites \u2192 Add<\/strong> and select <strong>Empty website<\/strong>. After specifying the domain address, the website will be created. Click <strong>Show access data<\/strong> to save your <strong>FTP credentials<\/strong> and <strong>MySQL database details<\/strong> \u2014 you will need these in the next steps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 3 \u2014 Upload website files via FTP<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Use an FTP client such as <a href=\"https:\/\/filezilla-project.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FileZilla<\/a> to connect to your mybox account using the credentials from Step 2. Upload all website files to the public_html directory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Step 4 \u2014 Update database connection details<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before importing the database, update the connection settings in your website&#8217;s configuration file. For WordPress, this is wp-config.php. Replace the old database name, username, password, and host with the values shown in <strong>Show access data<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 5 \u2014 Import the database<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Open <strong>phpMyAdmin<\/strong> via <strong>Databases \u2192 MySQL Databases<\/strong> in the <a href=\"https:\/\/panel.mybox.com\">mybox panel<\/a>. Log in with your database credentials, select your database on the left, then go to <strong>Import<\/strong>. This lets your browser resolve the domain to the mybox IP address without affecting live visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2192<a href=\"https:\/\/mybox.com\/help\/en\/knowledgebase\/testing-your-website-on-mybox-before-changing-domain-delegation\/\"> How to test your website on mybox before changing DNS<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 7 \u2014 Update nameservers<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once you confirm the website is working correctly, go to your domain registrar&#8217;s panel and update the nameservers to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>ns1.mybox.com<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ns2.mybox.com<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DNS propagation can take up to <strong>24 hours<\/strong>. During this time the website may be served from the old or new hosting depending on the visitor&#8217;s location \u2014 this is expected behavior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> <strong>Optional: update the A record first<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To minimize downtime, you can update the <strong>A record<\/strong> at your current provider before changing nameservers. Set it to the IP address shown in <strong>Domains \u2192 Manage DNS<\/strong> in the mybox panel, and set the lowest possible <strong>TTL<\/strong> value.
