Its absence does not indicate a website problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Lab_data\"><\/span>Lab data<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>Diagnose performance issues<\/strong> section is generated by Lighthouse during the current test.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It provides a controlled snapshot and helps identify technical causes of slow loading or unstable behaviour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lab results can vary because of network conditions, cache state, server load, and third-party services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Understanding_the_performance_score\"><\/span>Understanding the performance score<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The performance score ranges from 0 to 100:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>90\u2013100:<\/strong> Good<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>50\u201389:<\/strong> Needs improvement<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>0\u201349:<\/strong> Poor<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The score combines several Lighthouse metrics. A score of 100 is not required for a website to perform well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The individual metrics and recommendations usually provide more useful information than the class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Interaction to Next Paint (INP)<\/strong> measures how quickly the page responds visually after a visitor interacts with it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A high INP is commonly linked to JavaScript tasks that keep the browser busy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">INP is mainly based on real-user interactions, so it may be unavailable when there is not enough field data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Cumulative_Layout_Shift\"><\/span>Cumulative Layout Shift<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS)<\/strong> measures unexpected movement of visible elements while the page loads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Layout shifts can happen when images have no defined dimensions, fonts change after loading, or banners and embedded content resize their containers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"First_Contentful_Paint\"><\/span>First Contentful Paint<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>First Contentful Paint (FCP)<\/strong> measures when the browser first displays visible page content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It can be affected by server response time, stylesheets, fonts, and JavaScript.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Total_Blocking_Time\"><\/span>Total Blocking Time<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Total Blocking Time (TBT)<\/strong> measures how long the browser is prevented from responding during the Lighthouse test.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Long JavaScript tasks are a common cause of high TBT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Speed_Index\"><\/span>Speed Index<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Speed Index<\/strong> measures how quickly the visible parts of the page appear during loading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It should be reviewed together with the other metrics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Checking_server_response_time\"><\/span>Checking server response time<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">PageSpeed Insights may show a finding related to the initial document request, server response time, or Time to First Byte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Time to First Byte (TTFB)<\/strong> measures how long it takes for the browser to receive the first byte of the page response.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">TTFB can be affected by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Hosting resources<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Application processing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Database queries<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>WordPress plugins or themes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Page caching<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>External API requests<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Network distance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Redirects<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">TTFB is useful when evaluating hosting performance, but it does not measure the complete page-loading process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A server can respond quickly while images or scripts make the page slow. A delayed initial response can also occur even when the rest of the page is well optimised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Using_the_findings_and_diagnostics\"><\/span>Using the findings and diagnostics<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Below the metrics, PageSpeed Insights lists findings that may explain the result.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Common findings include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Large or poorly optimised images<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unused JavaScript or CSS<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Render-blocking resources<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Large network payloads<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Long JavaScript tasks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Third-party scripts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Inefficient browser caching<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Layout shifts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These are diagnostic suggestions.
