Unlike traditional databases that read data from disk, Redis keeps data in RAM \u2014 which makes retrieval significantly faster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For web applications, this translates to shorter response times and reduced load on the database server. If it is, Redis returns it immediately \u2014 without querying the database again. If not, the data is fetched from the database and then cached in Redis for future requests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This mechanism is called a <strong>cache hit\/miss cycle<\/strong> and is the core reason Redis improves performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"When_Redis_makes_a_difference\"><\/span><strong>When Redis makes a difference<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The performance gain depends on how the website is built.
